Regents Bank was founded in 2001 by local banking professionals, each with more than 20 years of
banking experience, who came together with local community leaders to create a privately-held banking
company with a focus on exceptional service. It is one of the fastest-growing community banks on the
West Coast. As Senior Vice President, Barbara S. Hunter is in part responsible for its growth.
Barbara Hunter has been in the commercial banking industry for 25 years. Barbara has been with
Regents Bank for five years and her responsibilities are numerous. She manages the underwriting for
real estate loans, oversees general operations as a branch manager, and manages all employees of the
branch. Foremost for Barbara and Regents Bank is her attention to the growth of the bank through new
loans and deposit activity.
Barbara is involved in a few organizations where she volunteers her time. She is on the Community
Development Committee for NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association. She is also
a Member of the Children’s Hospital Auxiliary and has been on the HomeAid San Diego Board since its
inception in 2002.
In her free time Barbara enjoys the company of friends, golfing, and exercising. She has been
a resident of San Diego County since 1976 and currently resides in Poway with her husband.
Barbara has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of
Science in Accounting.
