Mark Read assumed his current position as Senior Managing Director at CB Richard Ellis in San Diego County in September 1998. Mr. Read has responsibility for four offices, all business lines and a staff of 230 people including 100 sales professionals.
Professional Experience
Prior to his current position, Mr. Read managed the San Diego North (Carlsbad) office for CBRE and had countywide responsibility for the industrial specialists. A twenty nine year veteran, Mr. Read has had a long history with CB Richard Ellis, having managed the Company\\'s Jacksonville, Florida office for six years and serving as the statewide marketing director for industrial properties in Florida.

Prior to moving to Florida, Mr. Read spent nine years as an industrial salesman and later, sales manager in the Rancho Bernardo office of Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Services. While in sales, Mr. Read was a consistent top producer, recognized in the Rancho Bernardo "Top Five" every year and was the Koll Company "Broker of The Year" for San Diego County in 1985. In 1993, Mr. Read received national recognition with the J. Frank Mahoney Leadership Award from CB Commercial for his work in Jacksonville. In 1997, Mr. Read received the Mahoney Award again, this time for his work in San Diego. In 1998, Mr. Read and his San Diego County Management team were recognized by the San Diego Business Journal with a "TEIM" award for Total Excellence In Management. In 1999 and 2000, Mark received the James J. Didion Award from CB Richard Ellis. This award is given to managers who have distinguished themselves through exceptional market leadership. Under Mark Read\\'s leadership, the San Diego Region of CBRE is consistently one of the company leaders in creativity, client service, and performance.
