Mitchell Ellner is a Partner in Ernst & Young’s Real Estate,Hospitality &
Construction Practice in San Diego. Mr. Ellner has 33 years of experience in
providing accounting, audit, and business advisory services to numerous public
and private companies in the real estate industry. His clients include real
estate investment trusts, private equity funds, land developers and
homebuilders, developers of multi-family and commercial properties, and hotel
companies. These services have involved formation and structure of new REITs;
accessing capital markets; business strategies, financial feasibility,
evaluating real estate acquisitions and dispositions; transaction structuring,
judicial and nonjudicial debt restructuring and real estate portfolio analysis.
Mr. Ellner is a graduate of Syracuse University, where he also received his MBA.
He is a member of NAREIT, NAIOP, NCREIF, ULI, and the BIA of San Diego, a Board
Member of HomeAid San Diego and a member of the Policy Advisory Board Executive
Committee at the University of San Diego Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate.
Mr. Ellner is a certified public accountant in California, Washington and New
York, and a member of the AICPA and the state society of CPAs in these states.
