Alpha House

Over 100 Adconion Direct employees spent the day volunteering side by side at the Alpha Project’s Alpha House location painting interior and exterior areas, replacing hardware, and landscaping the lot. Additionally, Adconion Direct contributed materials towards the top-to-bottom rehabilitation project that will also include kitchen and bathroom upgrades and new appliances. The volunteer day is part of HomeAid San Diego’s annual Cares Day project aimed at connecting its service provider partners with willing volunteers and, once completed, the 115 year old Logan Heights community site will house eight women at a time with on-site case management to assist tenants in gaining independence.

Managed by Alpha Project, a service provider for homeless and special needs San Diegans, renovations will prepare Alpha House to transfer from a men’s transitional housing facility to serve women in January 2014, filling the need for more home-like facilities rather than temporary shelters for women.
