HomeAid San Diego teamed up with Promises2Kids and Polinsky Children’s Center to refurbish the in-take rooms where the children are first brought into the facility while they undergo their initial medical and mental assessments in a ‘home-like’ fashion. NAIOP San Diego’s Developing Leaders took the lead on this project bringing in contractors, electricians, designers, painters and etc. to put the project together. New paint, ceiling tiles, efficient ceiling lights, carpet tiles and vinyl flooring were all installed. A tranquil and inviting mural was created and painted on the entrance hallway wall, and new TV’s and DVD players were installed in the individual rooms. This project was completed at the end of 2013.
