The holidays are especially hard for many. Hundreds of children and their families in San Diego will find themselves struggling to have just the basic necessities this holiday season. Your support helps us provide vital services for children and families escaping domestic violence; support to current and former foster youth learning to live independently; and services for homeless families.
With your partnership, South Bay Community Services (SBCS) provides a place where those in need can find hope and create the best life possible. SBCS has been serving more than 50,000 annually since 1971.
When there are home stressors, a whole family is affected, therefore SBCS believes in wrap-around, holistic and personalized support. Of the many programs provided is our Mi Escuelita Therapeutic Preschool, for children affected by domestic violence. Many of these little ones reside in our emergency shelters or living with foster families or kinship parents.
Each year, 72 little souls come into the preschool, each of them with their own heartbreaking story. But because of you, there are joys every day. Little signs that we know we are going in the right direction. A kind word, a gentle gesture, or maybe just a smile among little friends are special signs of healing and hope. Because of you, they are becoming the children they were meant to be before the violence.
Your donation this holiday season gives over and over again throughout the year. From therapeutic healing for our little ones; to housing and support for youth who have aged out of the foster care system; to shelter, food and clothing for homeless families – all find hope at SBCS because of your gifts.
No gift is too small.
