Shea Homes is the largest privately held home builder in the nation and is driven by a passion to build
the finest-crafted homes and communities in America. The passion is held by their employees and
Sarah J. Beckman is a part of Shea Homes’ successful team. In just 6 years Sarah has earned increasing
responsibility and is now a Community Development Manager, managing all entitlement aspects of
residential real estate development projects. Prior to being a Community Development Manager, Sarah
got her start with Shea in the accounting department and was soon promoted to Land Acquisition
Coordinator and then to Assistant Community Development Manager.
A notable accomplishment for Sarah is the closing of an affordable housing land disposition that she has
managed for more than 3 years. Sarah is also heading up a green building initiative with the City of Chula
Vista in an effort to create more energy efficient housing.
In addition to HomeAid, Sarah volunteers her free time to the San Dieguito History Museum along with
the University of California San Diego Burn Institute.
In June 2010, YWCA awarded her as an Honoree for their Tribute to Women & Industry. She was
nominated by her industry peers and was one of 30 women to be honored.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys her passion for dancing that stems from her childhood, and is an avid
runner.
Sarah has a BA in Political Science and a minor in Women’s Studies from California State University,
Chico.
