Nonprofit Service Providers
To accomplish our mission of building and renovating shelters for temporarily
homeless men, women, and children, HomeAid San Diego identifies effective
nonprofit operators of homeless shelters in San Diego and works with them to
renovate their existing facilities or to build new structures in a manner that
will either add more or preserve existing shelter beds. To be eligible for a
HomeAid San Diego project, a nonprofit Service Provider must provide social
services and support that enable families and individual to move beyond their
temporary situation, transform their lives, restore their self worth, and regain
self-sufficiency.
To qualify for assistance as a HomeAid San Diego project, a nonprofit Service
Provider must have a program based within HomeAid San Diego’s region and at a
minimum must also have:
- A mission to assist the temporarily homeless –those who can and want to be
rehabilitated, but need assistance for 60 days to 24 months to do so
- Strong community and political support
- A good track record of enabling clients to attain a stable lifestyle and obtain
long-term independent housing
- Operational funding in place to support client programs

Our Service Provider partners reflect the diversity of our County, its
creativity and it’s caring. Each of our Service Providers is carefully evaluated
