Thomas Noto has been with San Diego-based architectural firm, Smith Consulting
Architects, since 2003. As Director of Business Development, Noto is responsible
for identifying, tracking, and securing new projects that “fit” into Smith
Consulting Architects’ workload schedule and product focus, which includes
Office, Industrial, Biotech, Retail, Mixed-Use, Interiors, and LEED projects.
Prior to joining Smith Consulting Architects, Noto served as senior account
executive at Astor Broadcasting Group in San Diego. There, he worked in radio
sales, oversaw business development and organized creative events to attract
corporate sponsorship. Previously, he served as director of online
community/public relations for Yride Inc., an Internet portal company focusing
on youth culture. During his tenure at Yride, Noto also traveled across the
United States as the official tour photographer for local San Diego rock band
Blink-182. Noto’s photos were later published by MCA records in Blink-182’s
live CD released in 2000.
Noto received his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, with an
emphasis in marketing, from Chico State University in Chico, California.
Since 2003, Noto has been a member of the NAIOP San Diego Charity Golf
Tournament planning committee and has organized and participated on the Smith
Consulting Architects team for Project Mercy’s Baja Challenge.
In addition to being a volunteer on Home Aid’s “Taste of North County” planning
committee since 2006, Noto is an active member of the Coachella Valley Economic
Partnership (CVEP) Marketing Committee, as well as a key participant in the
CVEP’s Relocation, Retention and Expansion subcommittee.
Born and raised in San Diego, Noto presently resides in Carlsbad with his wife,
Tammy and daughter, Chloe. He is an active member of the Surfrider Foundation
and enjoys surfing, snowboarding, golfing, and playing bass guitar in his spare
time.
