Founder & Managing Partner

As Founder and Managing Partner of Finest City Realty Advisors, Charlie Abdi is responsible for and directs all development, acquisition, and broker relation efforts. Mr. Abdi was formerly a Senior Managing Partner for Koll Development Company’s Southern California Division, and was responsible for development, management and marketing activities for the San Diego portfolio, as well as acquiring existing properties and structuring new development opportunities with financial institutions and land owners across Southern California. Mr. Abdi began his career at Koll in 1985 as an Executive Vice President in charge of the Carlsbad Research Center, a 560-acre business park located adjacent to Palomar Airport.

Finest City Realty Advisors was formed in 2002 in Del Mar, CA by Mr. Abdi.  The company specializes in Medical Office Development and light Industrial centers located in Southern California.  Finest City Realty Advisors has formed Joint Venture relationships with both private and institutional equity firms. Equity partners include The Ecke Family’s real estate arm, Carltas Investments, Don Koll Partners, Westcore Investments. Hooberman Group, NJP Inc.,  GE Capital and Cigna Insurance Company.

Mr. Abdi has been actively involved in the commercial real estate industry since 1983, specializing in development and acquisitions. His marketing background, coupled with his extensive real estate experience, has enabled him to be the principal in charge in the development and acquisition of in excess of $2.0 Billion of commercial real estate transactions representing over 13 million square feet of medical office, build-to-suit, retail, industrial, professional office and mixed-use projects. Mr. Abdi has west coast transaction experience in California, Arizona, Nevada ~ and the state of Washington.

Before joining The Koll Company in 1985, Mr. Abdi was a commercial real estate broker at the Coldwell Banker Commercial Office in Carlsbad, where he concentrated on sales and leasing at the Carlsbad Research Center and in the entire San Diego County marketplace.

Mr. Abdi is the former Chairman of NAIOP California State Council, is the past President of the San Diego Chapter and continues to serve on the Board. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the University of San Diego Alumni Association, the Advisory Board of Directors for Landsystems Inc. San Diego, the Board of Directors of the California Business Property Association, USD Real Estate Institute and the San Diego Chapter of HomeAid America.

A Graduate of the University of San Diego, Mr. Abdi earned a Degree in Business Administration and Marketing.
