Barbara White

Founded by Doug Dahlin in 1976, Dahlin Group is an architecture and planning practice of 200+ professionals with seven offices throughout California and the People’s Republic of China. The award-winning design firm’s international teams of architects and planners craft memorable public and private places for companies, communities and individuals. Placemaking is the core of Dahlin Group. It defines the firm’s design and execution, philosophy, and internal culture.

Barbara White has eight years’ experience in architecture and homebuilding. She has had the privilege of working in all three Dahlin Group California offices, building her portfolio in residential, commercial, mixed-use and tenant improvement projects. Her roles have included project leader and being a member of multi-disciplined design teams.

In between stints in Northern and Southern California, Ms. White spent time in Texas working for one of the country’s largest private homebuilders. As a product analyst and architectural designer, she was responsible for implementing researched trends, best-selling options, and popular products and services into community mixes throughout the United States.

Outside the office, Ms. White gives back to the community by supporting the BIA in San Diego and Orange County. She is a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority where she sits as Alumnae Advisory Council Co-Chair at University of California San Diego overseeing chapter operations and procedures, risk management, finance, and philanthropy as well as being an active member of the La Jolla alumnae club.

Ms. White holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master’s of Architecture, both from the University of Idaho. In her spare time, she enjoys golf, outdoor activities, healthy living, traveling, architecture and the arts.
