Kitchens For Good Salvation Army Door of Hope Campus

When Kitchens for Good found out they had to move out of their south county location last year, they were worried about finding a location that could accommodate their needs. These needs included professional kitchens for making 100s of meals a day to assist local SD families that were impacted by the economic downturn of COVID and job losses. They also needed a large building to house their HQ admin office.

Luckily the Salvation Army‘s Door of Hope Campus was able to accommodate but there was one big problem. The building spaces being offered needed major renovations before they could move.  That’s where HomeAid San Diego and White Construction stepped in.

Over the course of this project, White Construction, Inc. and HomeAid San Diego garnered over $100,000 in donated and discounted materials and services which greatly reduced Kitchens For Good’s expenses. These savings also enabled Kitchens For Good to reallocate more funds back towards supporting their training, employment and food prep operations.
