HomeAid SD WORKS Program Featured on Unsheltered Conversations Podcast
We’re excited to share “From Opportunity to Career – The HomeAid San Diego WORKS Story,” a new episode of Unsheltered Conversations presented by HomeAid America.
In this conversation, we explore how workforce development, employment opportunities, and industry partnerships play a critical role in helping individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness build long-term stability. Since launching in 2022, the WORKS Program has trained individuals, including opportunity & former foster care youth, adults in recovery, Veterans, and individuals on a path of exiting homelessness by providing hands-on construction training, job readiness support, and connecting them to meaningful career pathways.
A special thank you to Scott Larson, CEO of HomeAid America and Host of the Podcast, as well as to Monique Waddington and CP Phan for working behind the scenes to bring our story to you. Joining the conversation are John (J.C.) Peterson, Staci Reidinger, APR(M) MBA, and WORKS graduate Destiny Dubois who shares her first-hand experience and success with the program.
Thank you to our dedicated WORKS Program Manager, Christopher Venegas, our lead instructor, Craig Perry, and to our program sponsors including the Lennar Foundation, Lennar San Diego, Bank of America, Prebys Foundation, Lucky Duck Foundation, Sherwin-Williams, the Sundt Construction Foundation, and the Turner Construction Company Foundation.
